Welcome to room 307's website. We are sure to have an exciting 5th grade year. Some important details for the school year:
  • Weekly Homework for English and SS comes home every Monday. There is a short assignment for Monday- Thursday and practice for our Comprehension strategy. This weekly homework page should be worked on every night and is due to me Friday morning.
  • Students are also required to read every night for 20 minutes and write a journal. I will include more information regarding the journal under Language Arts information.
  • Friday folders are sent home every Friday and include important information. Inside you will find information on your child's behavior, weekly AR scores, and weeky ACC math scores. In addition, we will send home all tests, classwork, and quizzes. There is also a newsletter that explains what we will be studying the following week and gives annoucements. Please be sure to look over everything and let me know if you have any questions!

What we are going to do this year:
  • In English we are going to become better readers and writers by practicing these skills. We will also be working on a lot of curriculum. Please read the newsletter to see our weekly topics!
  • In Social Studies we are learning about geography. We will first study map skills, globes, and the 5 themes of geography. Next, we will study all the regions in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Central America.
